Overview
Although Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay are located only a short distance apart, they offer noticeably different coastal environments. Santa Maria's horseshoe-shaped cove provides natural protection from prevailing swell, while Chileno Bay is characterized by extensive rocky reef systems that support diverse marine habitats. Traveling between the two by kayak creates a unique perspective of the coastline that is not available from shore. The combination of paddling and snorkeling also allows travelers to experience both the surface and underwater environments of the Sea of Cortez, gaining a deeper appreciation for the marine ecosystems that have made Los Cabos one of Mexico's most celebrated coastal destinations.

Meeting and Pickup
• Complimentary round-trip transportation is available from hotels in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor• If your hotel is not listed, feel free to contact us so we can check transportation availability for your area• Guests arriving with their own vehicle may meet at Plaza Gali OXXO or directly at Santa Maria Beach, where the experience begins• Hotels outside the main tourist area, including Hard Rock, Nobu, Rancho San Lucas, Diamante, or Four Seasons, are not included in complimentary transportation and will meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas• Cruise guests will also meet at Plaza Gali OXXO, approximately 3–5 minutes walking from the marina exit. Detailed walking directions will be provided with your confirmation message• Cabo San Lucas cruise arrivals operate using tender boats, which may take additional time depending on port operations. The maximum weight capacity for kayaking is 340 lbs / 154 kg.
Nov 2021No experience is necessary! Beginners are welcome on all of our kayak tours. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a kayak tour. If you can hike or bike, you can paddle our sea kayaks. You do not need any swimming skills either.
The only prerequisite is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure.
Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our expeditions offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding. We will show you proper sea kayaking technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.
Sep 2022Your safety is Cool Cabo’s number one concern. In general, sea kayaking is safer than most other outdoor pursuits, even bicycling.
Jan 2023If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
