Overview
As a PADI 5 Star Eco Dive Center, we want to encourage animal lovers away from swimming with dolphins in captivity by joining a regulated tour to see them in their natural environment. This would be a great family outing! We regularly see them from the surface and, for the more adventurous, we can often see them while snorkeling in the open ocean.
Did you know? You will spend a similar amount of money at a dolphinarium (after purchasing photos) as you will on this tour! We will likely encounter lots of other amazing animals in this nature hotspot of Baja Sur.
You might get the jackpot and see Orca, whales, mobulas, as well as the dolphins! Not to mention we take you snorkeling on some secluded reefs and a small sea lion colony.
This is unlike any other tour in Cabo. If you're a family looking to do something extraordinary off the beaten track, at one of Baja's best-kept secret locations... this is it! Suitable for young kids who don't mind a long car journey!

Meeting and Pickup
We will pick you up from any hotel from Cabo San Lucas to Todos Santos. If you are on the San Jose del Cabo side, we can offer you an Uber service to bring you to the dive center for the departure time in the morning.
What To Expect
Have you ever seen hundreds upon HUNDREDS of bottlenose dolphins swimming alongside the boat? Have you seen Spinner dolphins launch themselves out of the water, as they compete for height? We also encounter mobula rays, whales, ORCAS! and more. And no, NOTHING IN NATURE IS GUARANTEED! So we will also take you snorkeling at a sea lion colony and for lunch at a pristine snorkeling reef. Escape the Cabo crowds and explore!
The 2.5 hr drive from Cabo takes us to the captivating fishing village of La Ventana and Cerralvo Island. We provide a brunch pack & you can request a break along the way. Your day guide will connect with the captain, who is a seasoned expert and knows where to search for and view dolphins. Spend 6 hours immersed in nature, looking for WHATEVER wildlife we encounter, as long as it is respectful to do so. The boat is a 26 - 28ft Pange with shade and ladder.
Lunch is a boat picnic at a secluded beach where you can disembark and enjoy the surroundings. Go for a reef snorkel swim if you like.
We will run this tour when we have 4 people signed up.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Cabo snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Cabo tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
May 2023As an active member of the Dolphin SMART program, we do not have physical contact with the dolphins on Private Wild Dolphin Encounter Day Trip. We watch them in their natural habitat from the boat.
Dec 2022First-time snorkelers can be assured of one-on-one instruction and assistance. We find introducing folks to our world very rewarding!
Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
Feb 2023- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the tour local time (MST).

This tour requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
